You need to use at least 10 sources; at least 5 must be academic (peer reviewed) sources; the others can be reliable non-academic sources (your minor area subject librarian can help you determine if non-academic sources are reliable, if you don’t already know how to do that. You can also, of course, ask me). This final project should relate to one or both of your minor areas of study (BIOLOGY, PSYCHOLOGY AND MEDICAL SPANISH). Your final project will be a researched product that has two parts: Part one: Write a 2700 word researched essay that formulates an original line of inquiry into a complex problem related to globalization, using your major areas of concentration to propose a solution. Some examples of what you might investigate are: How can psychology and art combine to help refugee children who have undergone trauma? Using political science and sociology examine whether BlackLivesMatter is really a global movement, and how that knowledge may benefit that movement. How can women’s studies, public health, and political science combine to reduce maternal mortality rates worldwide? How can nutrition and sociology combine to address the issue of food deserts in America and Australia? Part two will be a self-evaluation essay (1000 words) in which the student describes both the research processes that went into the project and how his/her understanding of globalization has evolved from the beginning of the semester, especially focusing on what you understood globalization to be at the beginning of the semester and what you understand of it now, after you have spent a semester studying it.
