What are the two major categories of body membranes?
, you will research and respond to two of your classmates' questions. Each response must include at least 5 sentences of well-researched information from a resource Part B: Classmate Question # 2 The three most common types of skin cancer are squamous cell carcinoma, basal cell carcinoma, and melanoma (Patton, K & Thibodeau)2019. Squamous cell is a skin cancer that is a slow growing skin cancer of the epidermis. Clinically, squamous cell carcinoma arises in a background of sun-damaged skin often from precursor lesions called actinic keratoses (Howell JY, Ramsey ML)2022. Basal cell skin cancer is the most common type of skin cancer and less likely to metastasis. It starts in the cell base of the epidermis. Basal cell carcinoma is the most common cutaneous malignancy, affecting close to one in five Americans. Basal cell carcinoma rarely metastasizes, but it can cause significant local destruction and morbidity if not recognized and adequately treated (Nikanjam, M., Cohen, P.R., Kato, S., Sicklick, J.K., & Kursrock, R.)2019. Melanoma is a serious skin cancer. It can metastasis below the skin level into lymph nodes and organs. If this skin cancer is not treated or discovered, it can lead to death. Malignant melanoma is the most lethal form of skin cancer (Mathews, Li & Quereshi)2017. If melanoma is diagnosed and properly treated in the early stage of its process it has a good outcome and prognosis. Question: What is the “ABCDE” rule of self-examination of mole that can help “watch” and prevent skin cancer? Question 2: What are the two major categories of body membranes? Provide an example of each, and their main function in relation to the integumentary system.
