The Biosphere is a totally enclosed facility to be used by humans to live on other planets. You will be required to live in your Biosphere for a period of one (1) year. Once you are locked into your Biosphere, you will not be able to leave/have deliveries of any kind made to your Biosphere. You are not allowed to fraternize with anyone in your Biosphere (or cross over to the other Biosphere and fraternize with him or her). The first mission (Sept. 1991-Sept. 1993) failed. What was the reason(s) for failure? In addition to the above question, here are the remainder of the requirements for this assignment: 1. What is the shape and size (provide dimensions) of your Biosphere? 2. Compose a Mission Statement. 3. What type(s) of apparatus does your Biosphere hold? 4. What are the Titles of your Biosphere personnel? 5. What are the Job Duties of your Biosphere personnel? You must use O*NET in-depth descriptions per Job Title; do not cut and paste them. (see power point for required information) 6. What type(s) of environmental rooms will be housed in your Biosphere? 7. What type(s) of programs will be addressed in your Biosphere? 8. Name and describe your Model Ecosystems that includes an Urban Ecosystem. 9. How will your Science Programs address societal issues/challenges related to water and environment? 10. Describe how you will sustain a planetary ecosystem analog. Remember, once you are locked into your Biospheres, you may not leave. YOU CANNOT CONTACT THE OTHER BIOSPHERE OR ANYONE OUTSIDE OF YOUR OWN BIOSPHERE. You will be provided with a phone which has direct access to a live person in the event of an emergency. The software In your computers will block out people/sites you should not be in touch with. You cannot “order out” for anything. This will be for a period of one (1) full year. Class lecture will be from 4:30pm until 6:15pm. Working in your Biosphere groups will be from 6:15pm until 7:15pm. I am giving you this class time to work on your project as many of you are working and may not have the time needed to meet with your peers. Remember, Individual Paper; Power Point Presentations will be conducted on 04/21/2022. (Papers will be turned in on an individual basis) Power Points will remain with your group leader). Individual Papers are worth 200 points per person. Power Point Presentations are counted towards your Participation grade. If you do not participate in your group and do not follow the instructions for your individual paper, you will fail the course. Use the Internet to research the required criteria for your Biosphere. During our first class meeting, you will break out into your small groups – commence working on this project immediately. INSTRUCTIONS FOR INDIVIDUAL PAPER – BIOSPHERE 1.
