Assessment Task BARLEY TRADER shipped 30,000 tonnes of barley grain aboard DRY BULK INC’s vessel the “Dry Bulk Princess” from Dundee, UK on the 1stSeptember 2022. DRY BULK INC issued BARLEY TRADER with three bills of lading that stated, amongst other things: Bill of Lading 1 "Shipped aboard the “Dry Bulk Princess” in Dundee, UK on the 1stSeptember 2022 in apparent good order and condition 12,000 tonnes of barley. To be delivered to BARLEY TRADER or order in Antwerp, Belgium." Bill of Lading 2 "Shipped aboard the “Dry Bulk Princess” in Dundee, UK on the 1stSeptember 2022 in apparent good order and condition 12,000 tonnes of barley. To be delivered to BARLEY TRADER or order in Antwerp, Belgium." 2 Bill of Lading 3 "Shipped aboard the “Dry Bulk Princess” in Dundee, UK on the 1stSeptember 2022 in apparent good order and condition 6,000 tonnes of barley. To be delivered to BARLEY TRADER or order in Antwerp, Belgium." The bills of lading are subject to English law and jurisdiction. On the 2nd September 2022 BARLEY TRADER sold “12,000 tonnes of barley; price US$200/METRIC TONNE; C.I.F. Antwerp; shipment period September 2022" to AB INBEV tendering to AB INBEV the bill of lading (number 1), an insurance policy and a commercial invoice. The ship arrives in Antwerp on the 3rd September 2022 where it is discovered that the barley is contaminated with chemicals that had been used by DRY BULK INC to clean out the ship’s holds before loading the barley. The barley is now valueless
